4. Texas Longhorns

Texas went 35-4 in 2024-25 with three of its losses coming against South Carolina, including in the SEC tournament championship game and the national semifinals. It was a disappointing end to a terrific season, but the Longhorns aren’t going anywhere. That’s thanks in large part to sophomore forward Madison Booker, who was named an All-American and the SEC Player of the Year this past season. Texas also got a big boost recently with veteran guard Rori Harmon announcing that she will return to Austin for a fifth season. Losing second-leading scorer Taylor Jones will be significant, but the Longhorns could get a boost if Laila Phelia and Aaliyah Moore return healthy. Incoming freshman Aaliyah Crump could also play a role in getting the Longhorns over the hump in 2026.
