Top 10 women’s college basketball teams for the 2025-26 season
5. Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma might have been on the outside looking in on this list a couple of weeks ago, but expectations have heightened after No. 1 overall Class of 2025 recruit Aaliyah Chavez committed to the Sooners. Chavez will team up with one of the best post players in the country, Raegan Beers, while Oklahoma should also return its second and third-leading scorers: senior Payton Verhulst and sophomore Sahara Williams. Young freshman Zya Vann will also be in Jennie Baranczyk’s rotation, who took the Sooners to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013 this past season. A deeper postseason run could be in the cards for the up-tempo Sooners next year, and they should pose a significant challenge to many SEC heavyweights.
