Nico Iamaleava transferring: 5 landing spots for Tennessee QB
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (BVM) – On3’s Pete Nakos dropped a bombshell report Thursday about Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava wanting more money in his NIL package. The situation ramped up Friday when the star QB did not attend practice.
The 2026 projected first-round pick and the Tennessee program parted ways Saturday, the day of its spring game. Iamaleava is one of the biggest names to hit the NCAA transfer portal in its history and he will have an interesting market due to the timing of the decision. He will not be able to play for an SEC team in 2025 due to spring portal rules.

Iamaleava threw for 2,616 yards and 19 touchdowns last season, and is viewed as a top-10 selection when he is draft eligible.
These schools have the best chance to land the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class.
