Koivun claims Golfweek’s Player of the Year award
June 12, 2026 by Tucker Cleverdon AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn All-American Jackson Koivun added another bullet point to his resume as he was named Golfweek’s 2026 Amateur Player of the Year on Friday. As a junior, Koivun won six times in 14 starts and led the Tigers to their second national championship in three seasons. In addition to his six wins, Koivun added eight top fives, 12 top 10s and a 68.20 scoring average, which broke Colin Morikawa’s single-season NCAA record by more than four tenths of a stroke.
