Northern Illinois rallied for a 1-1 road draw against Youngstown State after Monica Correa scored in the 68th minute. The Huskies created plenty of chances but couldn’t find a winner, leaving coach Michael O’Neill frustrated with their finishing.

By the Numbers
  • NIU outshot Youngstown State 22-?; only 4 of NIU’s shots were on target.
  • Correa’s equalizer was her team-leading 3rd goal of the season.
  • Final score: NIU 1, Youngstown State 1.
Yes, But

NIU controlled possession and territory, but its 18 shots off target underscored the finishing problem O’Neill identified. Youngstown State also created threats, including a first-half shot cleared off the line.

What's Next

NIU travels to face Robert Morris on Sunday, Oct. 25, with kickoff scheduled for noon CT.

Bottom Line

The Huskies earned a road point, but converting their chances remains the difference between a draw and a win.
