Ranking UConn women’s basketball’s top 10 players of all time

STORRS, Conn. (BVM) – UConn Huskies women’s basketball is the standard of college hoops.

A lot of that has to do with Geno Auriemma, who, in his 38th season as head coach, has racked up 11 national championships, nine AP Coach of the Year honors and an induction into the National Basketball Hall of Fame. Of course, Auriemma couldn’t have found all that success without a bevy of talent at his disposal over the years.

The Huskies have produced nine different AP College Players of the Year and four Wooden Award winners. The Associated Press selects a Most Outstanding Player at the end of the NCAA Tournament and seven different UConn players have received that distinction since its inception in 1982.

It’s difficult to narrow a list of the best Huskies in program history down to 10 — especially since UConn has won a record 11 NCAA Division I national championships, including a women’s record four in a row (2013-16) – but there are plenty of deserving candidates.

With that in mind, here are the top 10 UConn women’s basketball players of all time.
