Sofia Kostirko Named MAAC Player of the Week

March 20, 2024-- Mount St. Mary's graduate student Sofia Kostirko has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Kostirko went 2-0 for the Mountaineers at the No. 1 singles spot in the lineup this past week. Kostirko posted a pair of straight set wins last week, topping Rhode Island's Sophie Herrman (6-2, 6-2) and Niagara's Elena Mayet (6-2, 6-0). Kostirko improved her season record to 6-0 in dual matches this season, all at the No. 1 singles position.
