5 best NFL draft fits for Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean
IOWA CITY, Iowa (BVM) – Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean is one of the best defensive players in the 2024 NFL Draft. The 21-year-old played three seasons in Iowa City and amassed 120 tackles, seven interceptions and three touchdowns.
He earned the titles of consensus All-American and the Tatum-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year in 2023, despite his season being limited to just 10 games because of a fractured fibula that sidelined him for the final three games.
DeJean has since had surgery to repair his fibula and is back running at full speed. He’s a projected late first-round pick and could be a game changer in his first year in the NFL with the ability to play cornerback or develop into a safety.
