Top 10 Kentucky HS football players in Class of 2023
LEXINGTON, Ky. (BVM) – When looking at Kentucky’s premier high school football players in the Class of 2023, it quickly becomes clear that there is a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball. In fact, half of the state’s senior prospects are defensive linemen. Who will emerge as the head of the class?
10. Dakota Patterson, WR, Boyle County
The 6-foot-3 wideout has shown tantalizing talent. Yet unfortunately, he sustained a serious knee injury several weeks ago, then had surgery to repair a torn ACL and meniscus. Patterson left Corbin and enrolled at Boyle County as a senior. The University of Kentucky is reported to be first on his list of schools.
That’s a 50-yard pickup off a screen for Dakota Patterson. UK offered the freshman in the last week.
Treyveon Longmire, sophomore whom the Cats want, two plays later scores on an 11-yard run. Patterson catches a two-point catch.

9. Ty Bryant, S, Frederick Douglass
The three-star safety earned second-team all-state recognition as a sophomore. At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Bryant still has plenty of potential to grow as a player. He accepted an offer from Kentucky in June. His dad Cisco played wide receiver for the Wildcats. Ty carries on the tradition.

8. Oryend Fisher, DE, Great Crossing
Fisher recorded 84 tackles and 11.5 sacks over his junior campaign. The 6-foot-6, 205-pound weakside pass rusher is a nightmare to deal with. He reportedly runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, which is an exceptional time for his position. West Virginia University is thought to be his most likely landing spot.
7. Saadiq Clements, DL, Henderson County
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Clements is a difference maker on defense. He got selected for Second Team All-State by the AP in 2021. Clements becomes part of the Purdue Boilermakers’ defensive front in 2023.

.@tommy_ziesmer reminds me of Drake Jackson in a setting like this. Too tough for most guys to handle. Doesnt take reps off. Real case for best player in state. pic.twitter.com/ixBpld0Hw6
