MINNEAPOLIS (BVM) – The Twin Cities have always been a big sports area as both St. Paul and Minneapolis have produced plenty of athletic talent. The suburbs surrounding the two cities have also produced a lot of NFL talent but this list focuses on the players to come out of the Twin Cities. The list takes into account NFL success based on stats, awards and longevity in the NFL. Now, here are the 10 best NFL players from the Twin Cities.
10. Bob Wetoska, T, De La Salle
Wetoska is a Minneapolis native that spent 10 years in the NFL. All 10 years were with the Chicago Bears who acquired him after he was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the 1959 NFL Draft. Wetoska went in the fifth round of the draft following his collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame. He then played for the Bears from 1960 to 1969, playing in 128 games as a tackle and helping Chicago win the NFL Championship in 1963. Wetoska went to De La Salle High School and is considered one of the to 100 best Chicago Bears of all time.
