Shamrock Series: A look back at Notre Dame’s success over the years
2009: Notre Dame 40, Washington State 14
The inaugural game of the Shamrock Series at the Alamodome in San Antonio featured a ranked Notre Dame squad taking on a struggling Washington State team, and Notre Dame predictably dominated. Led by 268 yards and two touchdowns from quarterback Jimmy Clausen, and 141 scrimmage yards from wide receiver Golden Tate, Notre Dame’s offense carried the team to an easy victory to improve to 6-2 under head coach Charlie Weis.
