Redrafting the 2020 NFL Draft QB class two years later
3. Jalen Hurts
Original pick: No. 53
Another former Alabama QB, Hurts finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting for the 2019 season after transferring to Oklahoma. The Philadelphia Eagles selected Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft where he would spend his rookie season as the backup to Carson Wentz, starting just four games. Philadelphia head coach Doug Pederson was fired at the end of the season and Hurts went on to start 15 games in 2021 for new head coach Nick Sirianni. The dual threat led all quarterbacks in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns during the 2021 season while leading the Eagles to the playoffs, but 2022 has been Hurts’ breakout campaign. He became the first Eagles player since 2017 to be named NFC Offensive Player of the Month when he threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns during a 24-8 win over the Washington Commanders before becoming the first Eagles QB to lead the franchise to an 8-0 record. In the midst of an MVP-caliber season in Year 3, Hurts is now a popular choice as the top QB from the 2020 NFL Draft.
