Redrafting the 2020 NFL Draft QB class two years later
4. Tua Tagovailoa
Original pick: No. 5
The Miami Dolphins took Tagovailoa as the second QB in the 2020 NFL Draft despite a hip injury that cut his junior season at Alabama short. After an up-and-down first two seasons where he spent time as a backup to Ryan Fitzpatrick and missed a handful of games due to injuries, Tagovailoa is currently enjoying his best season as a pro thanks in part to the offseason additions of head coach Mike McDaniel and star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The former Crimson Tide QB was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2 after throwing for a career-high 469 yards and six touchdowns during a 42-38 comeback win (the first fourth-quarter comeback of 21-plus points in 12 years) over the Baltimore Ravens. Through Week 12, Tagovailoa has thrown for 2,564 yards and 19 touchdowns to just three interceptions while leading the NFL in both passer rating (115.7) and QBR (82.7). With the Dolphins undefeated (8-0) this season when Tagovailoa starts and finishes, he could find himself at the top of redrafts in the near future.
