Top 10 Alabama Crimson Tide players of all time
6. Amari Cooper (2012-14)
There have been many great receivers to come through the Alabama program, but prior to DeVonta Smith, Cooper had staked his claim at the top of most historical receiving categories. Perhaps one of the most impressive parts of Cooper’s collegiate resume was the fact that he came in as a true freshman and had a 1,000-yard season, catching 59 passes and 11 touchdowns. While his numbers were down a bit as he missed a couple of games due to injury the following year, Cooper’s junior season in 2014 was one to remember, as he recorded a single-season program record 124 receptions. His 1,727 yards and 16 touchdown receptions that year are both the second-most in a single season in program history behind just Smith. A unanimous All-American and Biletnikoff Award winner in 2014, Cooper finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting. Currently, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound wideout is second to only Smith in all-time receptions (228), all-time receiving yards (3,463) and all-time receiving touchdowns (31). He became the No. 4 overall pick of the Raiders in 2015, and currently plays for the Browns after spending several seasons with the Cowboys.
