College football’s winners and losers of transfer portal
Losers
5. Kent State
No team in college football will face the roster turnover that Kent State will have to deal with as they head into 2023. As if losing head coach Sean Lewis to a coordinator position at Colorado wasn’t enough, the Golden Flashes will have to replace the bulk of their former No. 2 offense in the MAC after some key departures. Quarterback Collin Schlee is set to make the move to UCLA, while top rusher Marquez Cooper is headed to conference foe, Ball State. On top of that, three of the team’s top receivers and two offensive linemen are set to transfer to Power 5 schools. The incoming coaching staff will have its hands full as it looks to rebuild things from the ground up.
