Lawrence was heralded as a generational talent throughout his time at the high school level after putting up over 3,000 passing yards as a freshman. The standout play would only continue for the Cartersville star who led the Hurricanes to a 52-2 career record. After passing for 13,902 yards and 161 touchdowns, Lawrence would go on to Clemson where he would win a national championship as a true freshman. Three years later, the Cartersville native would be selected first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
