Top 10 Florida State men’s basketball players of all time
8. James Collins (1993-97)
After Florida State’s Elite Eight appearance in 1993, the Seminoles missed the NCAA Tournament four years in a row. Being a member of the Noles each of those seasons, Collins is susceptible to being overlooked despite the impressive numbers he put up during the end of Pat Kennedy’s tenure at Florida State. As just a freshman, Collins already averaged 11 points, and would score 18 points or more per game the next two seasons. He averaged 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals in addition to 16 points across his four seasons at FSU, earning third-team All-ACC honors in both 1995 and 1996, and second-team All-ACC as a senior in 1997. The lethal 3-point shooter took the Seminoles to the NIT championship game that year. Collins is currently third on the Noles’ all-time scoring list with 1,793 career points, and is also seventh in program history with 191 steals.
