Top 10 highest-rated HS boys basketball players since 2010
T-No. 1 – Chet Holmgren
Chet Holmgren’s 247 Sports profile shows that he has a player rating of 1.0000. The 7-foot center, with a 7-foot-6-inch wingspan, graduated from Minnehaha Academy (Minnesota) in the Class of 2021. He is the most recent graduate on this list and ties as the No. 1 highest-rated boys basketball player among those from the Class of 2010-Class of 2023.
Not many can forget when Holmgren, who was 16 at the time, went viral for pulling some moves against Stephen Curry. As a senior, Holmgren averaged 21 points and 12.3 rebounds. He totaled out his career with four state championships, 1,567 career points, 964 rebounds and 456 blocked shots as Minnehaha Academy rose to a 128-15 record. Other accolades included winning the Gatorade National Player of the Year, Naismith Prep Player of the Year and McDonald’s All-American.
Holmgren was quickly deemed as highly coordinated, despite being tall and skinny – especially as he made a strong first impression at Gonzaga. After one season with the Bulldogs, he was picked No. 2 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. The 20-year-old had a rough start to his rookie season with a foot injury but he’s bound to bounce back to prove why he’s always been highly touted.
