5 standouts from the Oklahoma Sooners’ spring game

2. Jackson Arnold, QB

Arnold’s stat line of completing 6-of-14 passes for 64 yards doesn’t exactly stand out, but fans were treated to a glimpse of the potential the five-star quarterback has a couple of times throughout Saturday’s scrimmage. Early on in the contest, Arnold had a 53-yard touchdown run that was ultimately called back as it was deemed his blue non-contact jersey was touched. On the final timed play of the game, Arnold ripped a 30-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Gavin Freeman on an impressive throw up the seam. There were some ugly moments with incompletions and passes batted down at the line of scrimmage, but overall, Arnold proved his upside in his first time taking the field in Norman.
