Jewel Spear enters transfer portal; Top 5 landing spots
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (BVM) – Jewel Spear is entering the transfer portal after three seasons at Wake Forest. Spear has two more years of eligibility left and enters the portal as one of the best scorers in the ACC.

This past season for the Deacon, she averaged 16.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 37.7% shooting from the field and 35.4% shooting from three. She was a top–five scorer in the ACC and as a sophomore, she was the top scorer in the conference. That year, Spear put up 18.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists a game while shooting 36.3% from three.
Spear joins fellow ACC guard Diamond Johnosn in the portal meaning there is plenty of guard talent in the portal. With Van Lith joining LSU, Spear is one of the best guards left in the portal.
A top-100 recruit out of The Colony, Texas, Spear surpassed 2,000 points at her high school and was one of the best three–point shooters in the state.
