Top 5 WNBA Rookie of the Year candidates for 2023
4. Haley Jones, G, Atlanta Dream
Jones looks to be the go-to playmaker for an Atlanta team that is in need of somebody to facilitate the offense. The Dream have a scorer in last year’s rookie of the year Rhyne Howard and all Jones will need to do is create offense with her. Jones can score but that won’t be demanded of her, meaning less pressure in that regard. At Stanford, she led the team in assists and was one of the main ball handlers for the team. Many thought Jones would be a perfect fit in Atlanta and now that it’s happened, all Jones needs to do is play her part. If she does that and the Dream begin to stack up wins, she will definitely be in the running for rookie of the year.
An ABSOLUTE DIME from Haley Jones‼️ pic.twitter.com/LtbiDQ1HCH
