Texas’ top 10 highest-drafted NBA players of all time
3. Bill McGill, No. 1
Standing at 6-foot-9, McGill dominated collegiate competition during his time at the University of Utah. McGill would average 38.8 points per game in his final season, leading to a top overall selection in the 1962 NBA Draft. The college star power forward/center would go on to spend just five seasons in the NBA splitting time between the Chicago Zephyrs, Baltimore Bullets, New York Knicks, St. Louis Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers. McGill would eventually make the jump over to the ABA.
