Christian Braun could join elite group of NCAA, NBA champions

Bill Russell

As the player with the most NBA titles in league history, it is no surprise that the late great Russell finds himself on this list. The dominant center was instrumental in helping his San Francisco Dons win back-to-back NCAA titles in 1955 and 1956 by averaging over 20 points and 20 rebounds a game as both a junior and senior.

Russell was drafted with the second overall pick of the 1956 NBA Draft and was immediately traded to the Boston Celtics in a blockbuster deal. The trade paid off immediately for the Celtics as Russell led the league with 19.6 rebounds per game and averaged 14.7 points en route to the NBA title. The legendary center wouldn’t stop there either as he helped Boston win 11 titles over the course of his 13-year career.
