Top 10 highest-rated Virginia HS football players since 2000
8. Michael Johnson – 0.9942
Johnson was a speedster as the running back for Heritage High School, rushing for 4,310 yards in three years and 95 touchdowns over three seasons at the school. After rushing for over 2,000 yards and 52 touchdowns as a junior, Johnson followed it up with 1,312 yards and scored 27 touchdowns while playing on an injured ankle his senior year. The running back was considered one of the highest-rated players in the country in the Class of 2002 and committed to in-state Virginia.
A crowded backfield, injuries and fumbling issues limited Johnson’s career with the Cavaliers. During his four years with the team, Johnson amassed just 787 rushing yards, 151 receiving yards and four total touchdowns.
