10 biggest 2023 MLB All-Star game snubs
4. Ketel Marte, 2B, Arizona Diamondbacks
Nobody expected the Diamondbacks to be in first place in a strong NL West at this point in the season, and Arizona will send three All-Star selections to Seattle as a result. However, Marte certainly was worthy of making it four D-backs competing in the Midsummer Classic. Nobody is leaving Luis Arraez off their All-Star ballot, and it is also hard to not give Ozzie Albies a nod with his 20 home runs and 59 RBIs midway through the season. However, Marte’s numbers are not that far off of his All-Star counterparts at the position, as his .867 OPS is just second to Arraez among second baseman, while he has also posted a .285 average with 15 home runs. Perhaps a slow start in April is what cost Marte, as he had a recent surge in June to become one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball with a .315 average, seven home runs and 22 RBIs.
