Top 5 2023 NBA Summer League debuts
Leonard Miller, PF, Minnesota Timberwolves
Miller was a second-round selection by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2023 NBA Draft and is already showing promise. He played for the G League Ignite last year and that experience playing against fringe NBA talent looks like it’s paying off. In his first summer league game, Miller went 7-for-11 from the field and 2-for-4 from three on his way to scoring 16 points against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 6-foot-11 forward also brought in 11 rebounds to go along with two assists, two steals and one block.

Minnesota beat the Pelicans 102-88 in part because of Miller’s performance. He had a plus-16 plus/minus and his effectiveness on both ends of the court was impressive. Miller has the size to bring in rebounds but can also space the floor due to his outside shooting. On defense, he showed he can be extremely effective. Miller still has a lot of games ahead of him but if keeps this up, he has a bright future in Minneapolis.
