Notre Dame football: Where top 10 recruits of the 2000s are now

No. 8 – Victor Abiamiri

Abiamiri’s 247Sports Composite rating of 0.9861 means that he’s the eighth highest-rated Notre Dame recruit of the 2000s. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive end graduated in the Class of 2003 from Gilman School (Maryland).

Abiamiri went on to become one of the best defensive linemen in Notre Dame history. He recorded 40 tackles for loss and 21.5 sacks from 2003-06. But, the second-round pick of the 2007 NFL Draft got unlucky with injuries during his pro career. He suffered a dislocated wrist, a Lisfranc sprain, a ruptured right Achilles tendon and a ruptured left Achilles tendon during his five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. So, he left the league and went back to school for his MBA.

Today, the 37-year-old is a partner and portfolio manager at a private registered investment advisory firm called Brown Advisory. He works to help manage the balanced accounts of the firm’s private clients.
