5. Texas Rangers

Out of all the teams on this list, the Rangers may have the least momentum right now. While Texas has still played .500 ball since the All-Star break, their recent struggles are concerning. The Rangers began August on a 12-2 stretch to reach a record of 72-48, only to lose eight in a row and 15 of 19 overall since that point. Several big series await against Seattle, Boston and Toronto, so all hope is not lost. However, the pitching staff, particularly the bullpen, will need to be stronger down the stretch. A top three of Nathan Eovaldi, Dane Dunning and Jon Gray is solid going into the postseason, and the Rangers are one of the top hitting teams in all of baseball thanks to career years from Corey Seager and Adolis Garcia. The pieces are in place, but Texas needs to right the ship soon to be able to make a World Series run.
