Top 10 Wisconsin football defensive players of all time
9. Joe Schobert, LB, 2012-15
With many other talented linebackers on the team during his time with Wisconsin, Schobert worked to pave his own legacy. While the 2014 season was his breakout year, fellow outside linebacker Vince Biegel was given the honors of multiple preseason award selections and watch lists prior to the 2015 season.
By the end of that season, Schobert was named first-team All-American by FWAA and ESPN, a consensus first-team All-Big Ten selection and the Big Ten Linebacker of the Year. In his 45 games as a Badger, Schobert amassed 172 tackles, 13 sacks and 35.5 tackles for a loss. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
