AUSTIN, Texas (BVM) – Since 1900, the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns have played 118 times in what is known as the Red River Rivalry. Playing each season for the Golden Hat, the rivalry game is played annually in early October and has taken place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas each year since 1932.
Through the years, many talented players have had the chance to be part of the rivalry, while there have been some truly dominant teams on both sides that has ultimately led to Texas leading the all-time series with a 63-50-5 record. In 2023, that’ll be no different, as No. 12 Oklahoma will take on No. 3 Texas in what is sure to be another exciting chapter of one of college football’s most storied rivalries.
