Ranking the top 10 games of the Red River Rivalry

7. 2000: No. 10 Oklahoma 63, No. 11 Texas 14

The 2000 game is the biggest blowout on this list, and a game most Texas fans probably don’t care to revisit. Coming into the contest, the Longhorns were ranked No. 11, while the Sooners were No. 10, creating an important matchup in the Big 12 standings. In just Bob Stoops’ second year as head coach at Oklahoma, the Sooners made a statement with a 49-point win over their rival thanks to 275 passing yards from quarterback Josh Heupel, and six touchdowns from talented running back Quinten Griffin. The contest was never close as Oklahoma jumped out to a 35-0 lead early in the second quarter, and ultimately outgained the Longhorns 534-154. Texas would bounceback to go 9-3 that year, while Stoops’ Sooners shocked everyone with a perfect 13-0, national championship season.
