Montez Sweat on the trade block? 5 possible landing spots

4. New Orleans Saints

While the Saints have recognizable defensive ends in Carl Granderson and Cameron Jordan, New Orleans currently ranks near the bottom of the league in sacks with just 13. Granderson has been the stronger of the two, recording four and a half sacks to Jordan’s one.

With the Saints just two games behind the Atlanta Falcons in the winnable NFC South, adding some juice to the team’s pass rush would be a fruitful investment, especially with New Orleans already sporting the league’s No. 4 defense. Saints defensive line coach Todd Grantham also has a previous relationship with Sweat, serving as his defensive coordinator during his college career at Mississippi State. While the Saints likely wouldn’t extend Sweat given Granderson and Jordan’s statuses on the team, adding him for a playoff push could be a perfect fit.
