5. Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox were in the bottom third of the league this past season with a team ERA of 4.52, and quite possibly will be looking for reinforcements to both their starting rotation and bullpen this offseason. Chris Sale, Nick Pivetta and Brayan Bello should remain as part of Boston’s starting rotation next season, but guys like James Paxton and Corey Kluber are currently free agents, and upgrades on others like Tanner Houck and Kutter Crawford could be available. Nola would certainly be an upgrade, and could form a strong top half of the rotation for the Red Sox which would likely help them improve on their 78-84 record from this past season in a loaded AL East.
