Top 10 Virginia boys basketball players in the Class of 2024
10. Redd Thompson, G, John Marshall
Thompson has been elite on both an individual and team level. Last season, the 6-foot point guard averaged 14.5 points, 3.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.8 rebounds while shooting 47% from the field as he led the Justices to an undefeated 28-0 record and Virginia High School League Class 2A. Thompson was named first-team all-state for his efforts, his second time earning the nod.
The guard is considered among the best point men in the country, earning the No. 169 ranking nationally from 247Sports. Thompson held 13 Division I offers from the likes of College of Charleston, Florida Gulf Coast and George Washington, but he committed to and signed with the James Madison Dukes on Nov. 9, keeping his skills in the state.
