Ty Thompson transferring; 5 landing spots for signal caller
4. Oregon State
The Beavers did not recruit Thompson out of high school. However, the program is likely familiar with the quarterback now. After losing head coach Jonathan Smith to Michigan State, Oregon State has seen an exodus of players including starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei and backup Adrian Chiles. Now, the Beavers are left with just two scholarship quarterbacks, though Ben Gulbranson does have experience as a starter.
For Thompson, this would allow him to stay in the state where he may have grown comfortable. It would also allow him to immediately compete for a starting position while in an area where he likely has a slight built-in fanbase. Given the uncertainty of the offense and the team’s conference standing, it may not be the most appealing to Thompson, but if he loves the state of Oregon, the Beavers are definitely in need of some quarterback competition.
