NHL players who went from millionaires to bankruptcy
Robin Lehner
Lehner made over $30 million in the NHL between the 2010-2022 seasons, but he wound up in Chapter 7 bankruptcy court on Dec. 30, 2022.
Lehner and his wife cited $50 million in debts against assets of $10 million, according to NBC Sports. Their debts included the missed payments on a $1.2 million purchase of rare snakes for a reptile farm. They also cited that they owed money to multiple other financial institutions.
The Lehners’ bankruptcy case appears to be ongoing, so it’s not clear what is being sold to repay the debt.
NEW: @GoldenKnights goalie Robin Lehner is "out indefinitely" for the season due to his recent hip surgery, according to GM Kelly McCrimmon. https://t.co/5ihhoZtO6W
