Ranking each ACC basketball team as conference play begins

15. Louisville

Louisville has struggled to return to prominence since the Rick Pitino era and went just 4-28 in Kenny Payne’s first year as head coach last season. The Cardinals have already improved on that record with five wins thus far in 2023-24, but struggles will likely continue during ACC play. Ugly losses to Chattanooga, DePaul and Arkansas State in the non-conference season further suggest that, but Louisville did prove competitive against some better competition like Texas and Indiana. With four players who score in double figures, led by talented guard Skyy Clark, the Cardinals could earn a few wins in conference play this season but are unlikely to move up much in the ACC standings.
