Ranking each ACC basketball team as conference play begins

10. Pitt

Expectations for Pitt this season have been higher than most years of the Jeff Capel era after the Panthers made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2023. While the team’s five losses this season have all come to respectable opponents, three have already come to ACC opponents, Clemson, Syracuse and North Carolina, putting it in a hole early. Senior forward Blake Hinson is again one of the stars of this team and is scoring nearly 19 points per contest. Sophomore twins Jorge and Guillermo Diaz Graham have also put up solid numbers, as has skilled freshman guard Carlton Carrington. The talent is in place, but the Panthers will need to find a way to climb out of the hole they are in sooner than later.
