TJ Finley enters transfer portal; 5 potential landing spots
SAN MARCOS, Texas (BVM) – One of the top Group of 5 quarterbacks is available. Texas State starting quarterback TJ Finley decided to enter the transfer portal Tuesday. The decision came off the heels of the Bobcats adding former Arizona quarterback Jayden De Laura through the transfer portal.
T.J. Finley thanks Texas State as he enters the transfer portal saying, “business is business” as he looks for his next home. 👀🏈 He told multiple people that he had no idea @jayden_delaura was transferring in from Arizona when making this decision. @tj_finley1 @TXSTATEFOOTBALL pic.twitter.com/xnu2wnTEjw

Finley resurrected his career during his lone season at Texas State. After committing to LSU as a three-star recruit in 2020, Finley transferred to Auburn for the 2021 and 2022 seasons before he joined the Bobcats last year. He threw for 3,439 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions while also rushing for 81 yards and five more scores during the season. His performance set the Texas State program record for passing yards in a season and he finished the year ranked No. 16 in the country in completion percentage, No. 17 in passing yards and No. 23 in passing yards per game, passing touchdowns and passing efficiency.
Given his vast improvement as a passer this past season, Finley will likely attract many programs for his services. With that in mind, here are five potential landing spots for the signal caller.
