5 landing spots for Kyle Lowry after being traded to Hornets
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BVM) – Kyle Lowry has spent time with four teams in his 18 years in the NBA. However, it’s quite possible the 6-foot veteran guard has stints with three different organizations during the 2023-24 season.
After spending the last two-and-a-half seasons with the Miami Heat, Lowry was recently dealt to the Charlotte Hornets as part of a trade that sent guard Terry Rozier to Miami.

Lowry’s time in South Beach followed a terrific nine-year run with the Toronto Raptors where the point guard became a six-time All-Star and an NBA champion.
His stay in Charlotte isn’t expected to be long, as it’s possible Lowry could be moved in another trade the Hornets look to make, or he could be bought out by the team and look to sign with a contender.
The Hornets aren't done dealing yet and plan to continue accumulating future assets ahead of the February 8th trade deadline, sources tell ESPN.

However, if Lowry does find himself on the buyout market, some contenders like the Bucks, Celtics, Clippers, Nuggets and Suns will not be able to acquire him under the NBA’s new CBA agreement because they are already over the tax apron and his salary exceeds the mid-level exception threshold.

Regardless, several teams are still likely to explore adding Lowry in the coming days, making him an interesting name to watch as rumors begin to circulate. Here are five teams Lowry could play for next.
