5. Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks are one of several teams fighting for one of the final playoff spots in the West. Led by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, Dallas has plenty of talent and has also received some nice contributions from several of the younger players on its roster. However, adding a little bit of veteran leadership to the locker room like Lowry brings could be invaluable down the stretch. Jaden Hardy and Dante Exum have been solid in backup roles in the Mavs’ backcourt, and Lowry probably wouldn’t take much playing time away from them. Yet, he still could provide strong defense and additional shooting for Jason Kidd come playoff time. It shouldn’t take much to get Lowry whether it’s via trade or if he’s bought out, so he certainly could be worth a flier for Dallas.
