Top 10 Louisiana HS baseball players in Class of 2024
9. Corey Cousin, OF, Slidell
Slidell didn’t quite have the season it was hoping for in 2023, but the Tigers did prove to have one of the state’s top emerging two-way players with Cousin. Last season, Cousin was named first-team all-district as he hit .374 with a .468 on-base percentage to go along with six home runs, 27 RBIs, 24 runs and 12 steals. As a pitcher, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound standout had a 2.86 ERA with 36 strikeouts across 22 innings of work. Cousin had a true breakout this past summer playing with NOLA Baseball, particularly at a tournament held in Oklahoma. That’s where Cousin’s baseball future lies as he officially signed with the Oklahoma Sooners this past November.
