Zeke Mayo enters transfer portal: 5 possible landing spots
Utah Utes
Utah will transition to the Big 12 next season so joining the Utes would provide Mayo an opportunity to showcase his talent in one of the premier conferences in college basketball. Utah fell just short of its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2016 in year two under Craig Smith and the program seems to be on the rise. However, the Utes may need to add some offensive firepower this offseason with leading scorer Branden Carlson graduating and fifth-year guard Cole Bajema out of eligibility. Carlson’s loss could make a frontcourt addition the top priority, but adding another skilled player to a veteran-laden backcourt could help Utah compete in its first year in the Big 12. Making a move to Salt Lake City even more likely for Mayo is the fact that Tramel Barnes, who recruited him while at South Dakota State, is part of Smith’s staff.
