Five takeaways from Tennessee’s spring football game
Chris Brazzell will be key
The Volunteers swung a hyped-up transfer last offseason in wide receiver Dont’e Thornton from Oregon. It was an overall disappointing campaign for him in 2023 that finished with him missing time due to injury. Tennessee had a similar approach this offseason, landing 6-foot-5 Chris Brazzell from Tulane.
The new wideout should serve a big role, likely slotting in as a starting receiver on the outside. Brazzell flashed on Saturday, looking like one of the best players on the field. The sophomore redshirt showed off his speed, getting open for a 71-yard touchdown, one of the biggest highlights of the day. Expect him to be a major player in a high-scoring offense this season.
