Theegala’s claim to fame at this point might be being featured on Netflix’s documentary “Full Swing” but the 26-year-old continues to get better and is up to No. 12 in the world rankings. Theegala is winless thus far in 2024 but has come close to victory a couple of times with second-place showings at the Sentry in January and at the RBC Heritage last month. Theegala has also sprinkled in a couple of other top 10s at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship. Perhaps the biggest element holding Theegala back from being a true favorite this week is his lack of major experience as he has played in just seven majors total and just one PGA Championship, last year when he tied for 40th. Still, his evolving game is good enough to keep him in the hunt this week and potentially pull off a surprise Sunday.
