10 breakout performers from the 2024 NBA Summer League
Kyle Filipowski, Utah Jazz
Filipowski was taken a bit lower than some imagined in June when he was selected 32nd overall by the Jazz. During the summer league, he proved why many believed he had first-round upside with a strong five-game stretch. The 6-foot-11, 250-pound big man averaged 16.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 45.5% from the field and just over 38% from deep. Filipowski, whose defense lacked at times at Duke, was also relatively solid on that end of the floor and averaged 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks during his time in Las Vegas. Filipowski had multiple 20-point efforts and saved his best for last with a 26-point, 11-rebound double-double in his summer league finale. While there remains room for improvement, the Jazz have to be excited about the second-round pick’s potential as a big who stretches the floor.
No. 32 pick Kyle Filipowski shines with a double-double as the @utahjazz win in their #NBA2KSummerLeague finale!
