Top 10 Illinois WRs/TEs for 2024 high school football season

8. Coy Taylor, Sr., St. Joseph-Ogden

Taylor isn’t a heavily-recruited player like the majority of pass catchers on this list, but he has still proven over the past couple of seasons that he is one of the most skilled wideouts in Illinois. As just a sophomore in 2022, Taylor led the state with over 1,200 receiving yards for St. Joseph-Ogden. Last season, he improved on that number, putting up 1,392 receiving yards, part of 1,669 all-purpose yards. The skilled 5-foot-11, 170-pound wideout also made 95 receptions and scored 12 touchdowns as a first-team all-conference and all-state player for the 8-3 Spartans. Taylor will have as good of a chance as anyone to lead the state in receiving yards again this fall and could carve out a role at the collegiate level in the future. In recent months, Taylor has attended camps with North Central College, the University of Indianapolis and Illinois.
