Ranking the 10 best LSU Tigers wide receivers in NFL history
8. Carlos Carson (1980-89)
Several of LSU’s top NFL wideouts have gone on to play for the Chiefs and Carson is among that group. Carson was a second-team All-SEC wideout at LSU who posted over 1,700 yards in three seasons. After becoming a fifth-round pick in the 1980 NFL Draft, Carson took a couple of years to make an impact in Kansas City before exploding onto the scene in 1983 with 80 receptions, 1,351 yards and seven touchdowns. That was one of three 1,000-yard campaigns the talented 5-foot-11 wideout had in his pro career while making two Pro Bowls. Carson briefly played for the Eagles during the final season of his NFL career but remains one of the best wideouts in Chiefs franchise history with career totals of 353 receptions, 6,372 yards and 33 touchdowns.
