Teams expected ‘to call’ on Amari Cooper: 5 landing spots
New York Jets
The Jets are one of the top destinations for Adams, but if they fail to acquire Aaron Rodgers’ former No. 1 target, Cooper could be a nice fallback option. After putting up 24 points in back-to-back weeks against the Titans and Patriots, the Jets offense appeared to be finding its footing. However, Nathaniel Hackett’s unit played poorly in losses against the Broncos and Vikings since and it’s clear the Jets could use additional weapons in the passing game behind Garrett Wilson. Allen Lazard will likely still see the field with Rodgers around, but he has failed to make some big catches recently, while Mike Williams hasn’t emerged as a reliable target yet following last season’s ACL injury. Cooper would be a big upgrade and is a respected veteran option for Rodgers who could open up the field for Wilson as well.
