Teams expected ‘to call’ on Amari Cooper: 5 landing spots

Trades within the division are rare in the NFL, but one of the most recent occurred in 2022 when the Lions traded T.J. Hockenson to the Vikings, a deal executed by Kwesi Adofo-Mensah who used to work under Browns general manager Andrew Berry. On paper, a deal would make sense between the AFC North rivals as Cleveland would get assets for an aging receiver who might only be a rental for the rest of 2024. Meanwhile, Cooper would fill a major void at wide receiver in Pittsburgh, likely without a significant cost. The Steelers defense has been terrific throughout the season, but the offense has largely struggled outside of a Week 4 loss to the Colts. Cooper could help change that if the rivals are willing to negotiate as a major upgrade on Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin III, and a reliable target for Justin Fields or Russell Wilson.
